I’ve realized (now that I’m thinking of doing it) that lifestyle and online businesses often morph several times, rebrand, or relaunch before finding a successful “edition”Realize, that’s okay on your own journey.

I’ve seen this most recently with the awesome brand specialist (design to theory) Matt Cheuvront who went from a one man http://www.mattchevy.com/ to team oriented http://www.proofbranding.com. It’s looking like the multiple changes to IT Arsenal and the narrowing of services will have me shut down outward facing work for a bit and issue a relaunch of sorts.

Would addressing internal focus and structure help your endeavors?

Reset Causes

How do you decide if a reset can help?

  • Evaluate
    • The state of my mind, and operations if you look back on the last few posts you’ll see is hectic and slowed. I’m constantly evaluating how to accomplish something. Is there something blocking your progress? I know change is needed, yet I have a few clients here and there, a few new conversations, and I drag my feet on what matters. It’s clear I’m wrestling with the next steps. If you take a step back, is there something you’re wrestling with?
  • Get Feedback
    • When introducing my business to any experienced individuals (recently to Rob Walling) his response was “looks like you do everything, woah.” Which I’ve learned means, what the heck do you do? … this isn’t the first time I’ve gotten that. Note taken, why do we still ask ourselves the same questions, when we know the answers? Action reaffirmed.
  • Hire Coaching
    • I purchased Corbett Barr’s “Traffic Tune-Up” service. I can’t speak high enough about Corbett, and after receiving his report, it was evident I didn’t need a traffic tune up, I needed  to re-evaluate how I’m pitching and presenting myself. He asked the right questions that made me think.

Reset Benefits

A relaunch will free the mind explosion going on after having new business, a new entity, clients and connections and zero on what needs to be done to grow instead of manage. The evolution of your business efforts in creating income streams doing what you love, with ease and flexibility.

A relaunch is also cause to examine where I’m putting my efforts, re-focus them and then in online “launch” fashion cause a reaction, hopefully in new traffic and business more closely resembling a custom made assembly line then everything custom each time. It’s easy to slink into trading time for money again and again. Although you might do this to keep things afloat, thats not the goal. I will not regress to an e-mail checking freelancer that trades time for money, I will build frameworks that can used again and again, shared, traded, sold, etc.

It will also provide time to reflect and explain what I’m actually doing, finally some action oriented information to record!

In the next month of my relaunch I’ll be writing here about…

A strange but powerful way to gain focus, how I finally freed up my mental RAM despite myself. I feel so much better once again.

Action items on creating a tangible website (theme/vibe) including: tag lines (important!), theming a newsletter, imagery, and wording)

How to create a service product or focus on various offerings, so it finally makes sense to drive traffic to your site (I’m dying for this).

Hiring a designer when you think you’re a designer.
