Some thrive on glory and recognition. I’ve found that I have little interested in glory.
I do not seek to build a billion dollar company like every tech crunch and news article I read tells me I do. I may aspire to help a billion people but not build a billion dollar company.
Honestly, I only crave as much financial freedom as required to be able to do what I love, when I want. If I end up building a huge company in the process, cool, if I end up in my basement tinkering, cool.
I’m incredibly happy with the conveniences of success, and the results of working hard for God’s glory while giving others recognition and making technology get out of their way, so they can have success.
Remember, success is self defined.
I’m blessed and happy, and while I still hold to someone else’s clock for a majority of the day, I’ve clawed a significant amount of freedom for myself and will continue to do so.
It’s all about others, not self, that has lead to significant fulfillment in multiple areas of my life.
